To be sure, this book has a flaw or two - chiefly with the way this guy comes across as terminally arrogant. He can't stop bragging about his football prowess, his fatal charm with women, his ability to skate through tough academic classes with minimal expenditure of effort, etc. ad nauseum. Not to mention his unerring knack for outmaneuvering his adversaries. The guy is downright full of himself. For a large part of the book, I was not sure what he was really writing about - himself or the title topic.
But he eventually got there. His quite credible insider information goes a long way to validate feelings I've had about the gynecology specialty - and male physicians in general - for most of my life. The long and short of it: No matter how many breasts, female genitalia or just plain nude female bodies these guys get to see, they never stop being men. This guy freely admits what most doctors would sweep under the rug: White coats aside, they are still men - inherently visual creatures who get turned on when exposed to the nudity of our wives, girlfriends, mothers and daughters. No matter what his more disingenuous colleagues may try to assure you, these guys are not taught in medical school or at any other juncture of their training, to turn off their normal male libidos. Far from it, many of these fellows wallow and delight in the kind of free access to female nudity - all cloaked in a veil of medical legitimacy/necessity - that few men ever enjoy in their lifetimes. This tome should be required reading for any man with a significant female in his life.
Despite the abrasive demeanor of the main character, I had to give this one five stars on its content alone.

Validates Suspicions
The book starts a bit slow for my liking, however as it progresses it continues to keep the reader engaged and is very informative. Funny at times. Serious at others. Would recommend to anybody who is curious about the mind and inter-workings of being a vagina doctor!

Keeping in touch with reality.
Great read. As a Gynecologist I found it particularly interesting, however you don't have to be medical to enjoy. Quick read, I could not put it down. HIGHLY recommend!
